And So It Begins

Blogging. It’s something I’ve thought about doing for quite awhile, but never really seemed to make official. Other things keep getting in the way and taking up my time. And, to be honest, it seems a bit intimidating. After all, what do I have to say that deserves its own place in cyberspace? But today, I read something that pushed me to sit at the keyboard and put a few words on the screen. Something that made me think I should reconsider this ‘blogging’ thing.
Most everyday I go to a website for a crossword puzzle. It’s a dictionary website that not only has a nice crossword, it really is a very good dictionary/thesaurus. In addition, they have different articles (blogs) about words and things that make up the English language. Today’s blog? "The Curious Chronicle About The Letter C" Yes, someone took the time to tell us all about the third letter of our alphabet. It had a couple of interesting bits of trivia (Ben Franklin actually tried to get the letter removed,) but it struck me as odd that someone would spend the time and energy to write about it, and then post it on the World Wide Web. It seemed so . . . small.
And then the thought came. If someone thinks the letter ‘C’ is important enough to talk about, why would I choose to keep quiet about things in my life that are, in my opinion, far more newsworthy?
The Apostle Paul told his friends in Corinth that as believers in Christ they carried the wonderful story of the Gospel. He said they have ‘this treasure in jars of clay.’ The common and ordinary contain something of importance and significance. Maybe there’s a future blogging career in store for me yet.
